Ana Belac Making Mark in Rookie LPGA Year

golfer Ana Belac

Ana Belac had a terrific NCAA career at Duke University, and had a fine rookie year as a pro on the Symetra Tour in 2020.

But what would 2021 hold for her as she embarked on her first year as a member of the LPGA Tour? So far, so good. Belac is marking a mark roughly halfway through her rookie LPGA campaign.

The Slovenian, who is into weightlifting and who frequently changes the color of her hair, has missed three cuts. But she also has finished tied for 16th place at the Pure Silk Championship in May.

And most recently (as this is written) is a tie for fourth place at the Volunteers of America Classic. There she finished at 12-under 272 with four consecutive rounds of 68.

Following that tournament, Belac's season earnings jumped to more than $80,000, and she jumped into the Top 70 in the Race to the CME Globe points chase. Belac, now 24, won her first pro tournament on the Symetra Tour in 2020, the Carolina Golf Classic in October.

Hyunju Yoo (Hyeonjoo Ryu): Newest Glamour Girl of the KLPGA

First, let's clear up why we've listed two names for this golfer in the headline. When she first came on the scene, she (and everyone else) spelled her name "Hyeonjoo Ryu." But recently on social media, she started spelling it "Hyunju Yoo." And we figure she knows better than anyone how to translate the Korean spelling of her name into an English spelling.

LPGA Golfers Enjoy the Bahamas Beachside and Poolside

Social media gives us a glimpse into the lives of professional golfers the likes of which we could never have gotten a mere 10 years ago. One word tells you all you need to know: "selfie." And when LPGA players visit a tournament site such as, say the Bahamas, selfies sometimes involve bikinis and other swimsuits. The LPGA Tour plays this week at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic. They are staying at the Atlantis Resort, which has a bevy of pools and other water features for them to enjoy; and are also right on the beach. Make that "beaches," since the resort is surrounded by sand and ocean, too. Below are a few of the swimsuit selfies LPGA golfers have shared on their social media accounts this week.
