Morgane Metraux's Breakthrough Win

Swiss golfer Morgane Metraux

At the 2021 Island Resort Championship, this Swiss didn't miss. Morgane Metraux earned her first Symetra Tour victory at the tournament in Harris, Michigan, that concluded on June 13, 2021.

Metraux, from Lausanne, Switzerland, won the 54-hole event with a final score of 17-under 199. She had rounds of 69, 63 and 67, and that final-round score included six birdies.

Metraux was one stroke behind Maude-Aimee Leblanc at the turn in the final round. But she took the lead with a birdie on the 16th hole.

Metraux turned pro in 2018 after playing college golf at Florida State University. Playing the Symetra Tour in 2018, she made 11 cuts in 13 starts and had a best finish of tied for eighth (twice). A shoulder injury forced her to miss all of the 2019 tournament golf season. In 2020, Metraux played the Ladies European Tour, where her best finishes were 10th- and 11th-place showings.

Hyunju Yoo (Hyeonjoo Ryu): Newest Glamour Girl of the KLPGA

First, let's clear up why we've listed two names for this golfer in the headline. When she first came on the scene, she (and everyone else) spelled her name "Hyeonjoo Ryu." But recently on social media, she started spelling it "Hyunju Yoo." And we figure she knows better than anyone how to translate the Korean spelling of her name into an English spelling.

LPGA Golfers Enjoy the Bahamas Beachside and Poolside

Social media gives us a glimpse into the lives of professional golfers the likes of which we could never have gotten a mere 10 years ago. One word tells you all you need to know: "selfie." And when LPGA players visit a tournament site such as, say the Bahamas, selfies sometimes involve bikinis and other swimsuits. The LPGA Tour plays this week at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic. They are staying at the Atlantis Resort, which has a bevy of pools and other water features for them to enjoy; and are also right on the beach. Make that "beaches," since the resort is surrounded by sand and ocean, too. Below are a few of the swimsuit selfies LPGA golfers have shared on their social media accounts this week.
