Photo: GolfPunk The 2017 season is off to a great start for England's Melissa Reid. Mel won the Oates Vic Open in Australia in a playoff over Sandra Gal, winning it on the third extra hole. The Oates Vic Open is a tournament cosanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and the ALPG Tour. Melissa and Sandra were close to each the whole time after both started with first-round scores of 67. Reid had a 70 in Round 2, then went into the lead with a third-round 67. In the final round, Gal chased down Reid and tied her, shooting 69 to Reid's 72. That left them tied at 16-under 276. They matched scores on the first two playoff holes, then Reid won it with a par on the third playoff hole. It's the sixth career LET victory for Reid, who was Gal's teammate on the European squad at the Solheim Cup in both 2011 and 2015.
