Madelene Sagstrom

In Madelene Sagstrom's first tournament on the Symetra Tour in 2016, she finished third. In her second, she finished second. And in her third? Victory. Sagstrom, a rookie pro, won the Symetra Tour's Chico's Patty Berg Memorial on Sunday by one stroke. It was a hard-fought win and she had to overcome some serious nerves: Madelene began the final round in the lead, but on the front nine she made five bogeys. That dropped her out of the lead, but on the back nine she steadied herself and rallied, including birdies on the 15th and 16th holes. Sagstrom wound up winning by one stroke over Sophia Popov at 9-under 279. Madelene is originally from Sweden. She won the French International Open in 2011. In college, she was a four-time All-America selection at Louisiana State University , and posted three NCAA victories. She was the SEC's Player of the Year in 2015.

Jennifer Ha Gets Her First Pro Win

Congratulations to Jennifer Ha for posting her first victory in a professional tournament. It happened at the NWGA's Timacuan Golf & Country Club event in Lake Mary, Fla., today (the Florida part of the NWGA Tour used to be called the Suncoast Series). Ha finished at 4-under 212 and passed the second-round leader with a final-round 70. She finished one stroke in front of the second-place golfer, 5-time LPGA Tour winner and multiple Solheim Cupper Maria (Hjorth) McBride. Ha's earlier starts on the NWGA Tour this year produced some pretty good results, too, including two runner-up finishes. But his is her first pro win. Ha was born in Korea but grew up in Calgary, Alberta, and plays under the Canadian flag. As an amateur she was a member of the Canadian National Team and her wins included the Pacific Northwest Women's Amateur in 2013. Jennifer played college golf at Kent State University, where she was the MAC Freshman of the Year in the 2011-12 season. As both a

Bronte Law

Every time the delightful Bronte Law shows up in the college golf headlines - and it happens often - I can't help humming the song I Fought the Law and the Law Won . This Law wins often. Bronte, a junior at UCLA, won her fifth NCAA tournament last week at the Ping/ASU Invitational, beating the field by six strokes. She fired a 69 in the final round to finish with a tournament-record score of 12-under 2014. (It was Law's second win of the 2015-16 season, the first coming at the Stanford Intercollegiate.) And for her effort she was named UCLA's Student-Athlete of the Week. Accolades are plenty for Bronte. For example, she's currently No. 1 in Golfweek 's women's college rankings. And she's currently No. 4 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. There's no doubt Law will earn All-America accolades after this season, just as she did last season - when she was also the Pac-12 Golfer of the Year. Bronte, from England, has extensive experience playing intern
