Kristen Kenney Host of New Golf Channel Series 'Altered Course'

Golf Channel has a new competition series coming this summer, and a new host to help bring it into our homes. The series is called Altered Course, and the host is Kristen Kenney.

The series will be Kenney's debut on the Golf Channel, but she's a veteran sports broadcaster. She is currently the pit reporter for the Red Bull Global RallyCross series on NBC and NBCSN.

What is the show about? Kenney explains the concept herself in one of her Instagram photos, which shows her racing after competitors (and her crew racing after her):

I am thrilled to announce I will be the host of a new reality golf competition series on @golfchannel @gcalteredcourse! Yes, as you can see, a very fit crew and myself will be running alongside the action as teams navigate treacherous terrain and race against the clock! Major props to @nopoblano, Gullberg, Greig, Juan and Roger, who had to chase after me on the course! This is a dream job, and I am extremely grateful to be a part of this incredible journey with the GC family. Press Release: GOLF CHANNEL ANNOUNCES NEW COMPETITION SERIES, ALTERED COURSE. Altered Course pits 2-person teams who must showcase their physical fitness as well as their golf prowess. They race against the clock while trying to beat other teams' golf scores, playing across multiple normal golf holes that have been combined into one monster hole.

The series will air on Golf Channel in Summer 2015.

Kristen was a Division I soccer player at Elon University in North Carolina, where she studied broadcast journalism. She later earned a degree in Communications from the University of Miami. She became a correspondent at the Orlando PBS station, and in 2007 was featured in the documentary Tanzania A Journey Within. While in Africa Kristen nearly died from malaria, but the experience led her to found the non-profit Malaika (angel) For Life. That organization provides malaria treatments in Africa.

Kinney later joined Fox Sports Next in Washington, D.C., then took part in covering the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She has also covered the World University Games for ESPNU and college basketball on the CBS Sports Network.

You can follow Kristen on Facebook, on Twitter or on Instagram.

Hyunju Yoo (Hyeonjoo Ryu): Newest Glamour Girl of the KLPGA

First, let's clear up why we've listed two names for this golfer in the headline. When she first came on the scene, she (and everyone else) spelled her name "Hyeonjoo Ryu." But recently on social media, she started spelling it "Hyunju Yoo." And we figure she knows better than anyone how to translate the Korean spelling of her name into an English spelling.

LPGA Golfers Enjoy the Bahamas Beachside and Poolside

Social media gives us a glimpse into the lives of professional golfers the likes of which we could never have gotten a mere 10 years ago. One word tells you all you need to know: "selfie." And when LPGA players visit a tournament site such as, say the Bahamas, selfies sometimes involve bikinis and other swimsuits. The LPGA Tour plays this week at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic. They are staying at the Atlantis Resort, which has a bevy of pools and other water features for them to enjoy; and are also right on the beach. Make that "beaches," since the resort is surrounded by sand and ocean, too. Below are a few of the swimsuit selfies LPGA golfers have shared on their social media accounts this week.
