2014 Q-School Finalists: Therese Koelbaek

If you are a reader of Golf Digest, then you've probably already "met" Therese Koelbaek, but perhaps without realizing it. Koelbaek was the model on pages 76-79 of the November 2014 issue, demonstrating the tips in an instructional article.

How'd she get that gig? Koelbaek works with well-known golf instructor Jeff Ritter, who has been featured in both the magazine and on the video side of the website, Golf Digest TV. In fact, Koelbaek was featured in three different videos, too, demonstrating Ritter's tips.

We'll next see Therese at the Final Stage of 2014 LPGA Q-School. She was exempt from Stage I and advanced out of Stage II with four strokes to spare. She'll have some help from family at Q-School finals, too, with her brother caddying for her.

That's no small thing, given that Koelbaek is Danish and her brother had to fly in from Denmark to help her. It was during another family visit in October - this one from her mother - that Therese's boyfriend proposed, and she accepted. So it's been a pretty good fall for her.

Therese played full-time on the Symetra Tour in 2014, recording three Top 10 finishes and finishing 31st on the money list. Her best showing on the Symetra this year was a tie for fourth at the Guardian Retirement Championship in April.

But she also recorded three victories on the Cactus Tour, which she played during the Symetra's off periods.

"For the first time going in to final stage I feel really good about everything and am confident that I have the ability to perform well," Koelbaek told Golf Babes. "I guess I can say that regardless of the outcome of Q-School it is great to have the opportunity to play myself on the LPGA Tour."

Therese began golfing at age 11 in Denmark, and within a few years was a member of the Danish National Team. She played college golf at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. (And she now lives in Arizona - from Denmark to the deserts.) At UNLV she was a 4-time all-conference selection, and was the Player of the Year in the conference in 2011 after winning the conference championship.

She turned pro in 2012 and made 15 cuts in 15 starts on the Symetra Tour that year. She also advanced to Q-School finals in 2012. You can find Therese's website listed in the right-hand sidebar of any page on Golf Babes along with other players' sites. Follow her on Twitter @theresekoelbaek or on Facebook to keep up to date.

Hyunju Yoo (Hyeonjoo Ryu): Newest Glamour Girl of the KLPGA

First, let's clear up why we've listed two names for this golfer in the headline. When she first came on the scene, she (and everyone else) spelled her name "Hyeonjoo Ryu." But recently on social media, she started spelling it "Hyunju Yoo." And we figure she knows better than anyone how to translate the Korean spelling of her name into an English spelling.
