Minjee Lee Goes Pro

The world's No. 1-ranked amateur is an amateur no more. A day after helping Team Australia win the World Amateur Championship, 18-year-old Minjee Lee announced she is turning pro.

The announcement was made in a video posted to YouTube by Golf Australia:

Lee has won a slew of top amateur tournaments, including the U.S. Girls Amateur Championship in 2012 and the Australian Women's Amateur in 2013 and 2014. And she's played in plenty of pro tournaments already, too, including Top 25 finishes in both the U.S. Women's Open and the Kraft Nabisco Championship this year. She was part of Team Australia at the LPGA's inaugural International Crown (the only amateur in the field), and won the ALPG's Oates Victorian Open this year.

Get used to hearing about Minjee Lee. Her winning ways are very likely to continue in the professional ranks.

Hyunju Yoo (Hyeonjoo Ryu): Newest Glamour Girl of the KLPGA

First, let's clear up why we've listed two names for this golfer in the headline. When she first came on the scene, she (and everyone else) spelled her name "Hyeonjoo Ryu." But recently on social media, she started spelling it "Hyunju Yoo." And we figure she knows better than anyone how to translate the Korean spelling of her name into an English spelling.

LPGA Golfers Enjoy the Bahamas Beachside and Poolside

Social media gives us a glimpse into the lives of professional golfers the likes of which we could never have gotten a mere 10 years ago. One word tells you all you need to know: "selfie." And when LPGA players visit a tournament site such as, say the Bahamas, selfies sometimes involve bikinis and other swimsuits. The LPGA Tour plays this week at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic. They are staying at the Atlantis Resort, which has a bevy of pools and other water features for them to enjoy; and are also right on the beach. Make that "beaches," since the resort is surrounded by sand and ocean, too. Below are a few of the swimsuit selfies LPGA golfers have shared on their social media accounts this week.
