(Photo: @floryparker/Twitter) We're not sure how good Florentyna Parker is at ping pong. But she's pretty good at golf! Parker is your winner at the 2014 Italian Ladies Open on the LET. She shot 68 in the final round and edge Holly Clyburn by one shot. Parker's best finish prior to Italy on the 2014 LET schedule was a tie for 20th. Her rookie season on the LET was 2009, and Flory has been a consistent performer ever since. She had two Top 10s as a rookie and earned her first LET victory in 2010 at the ABN AMRO Ladies Open. She finished 11th on the money list that season, and was 28th in 2011, 15th in 2012 and 35th last season. No doubt Parker will be improving on 35th in 2014.

Michelle takes Manhattan. That's the headline for Michelle Wie's day on June 24, 2014. That's the day she hit New York City - with her U.S. Women's Open trophy in tow - and made the media rounds. I'm just so pleased that Michelle Wie won the 2014 U.S. Women's Open. What a journey, and what a tremendous amount of crap she had to put up with during the down times. Yet, she's grown into a remarkably poised, intelligent young woman, universally liked by her peers on both the LPGA and PGA Tour. (Yes, I know, some of the Wie "issues" from years past were self-inflicted. But not nearly as much as some would have you believe. And besides ... who cares? She was 14, 15, 16 years old. Were all the decisions you made as young teenager good ones? Get over it. She blazed a path and should have been praised for her guts and talent. She was derailed only by serious wrist injuries, injuries that her dwindling detractors always forget about. She grew up, now her haters really need to do that same.)

It's brand new pro Stephanie Meadow, who is playing her first tournament after turning professional. The Northern Ireland golfer played her way into the U.S. Open through qualifying, after a stellar NCAA career at the University of Alabama. Meadow, now 22, first gained wide notice as a 14-year-old when, in 2006, she won the Irish Under-18 championship. She went to high school in the USA, then won nine tournaments while in college at Alabama. She was the SEC Player of the Year in 2014, as well as the conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Stephanie's biggest victory to date is her win at the 2012 British Ladies Amateur. She was also a member of the GB&I Curtis Cup teams in both 2012 and 2014.
