Guyism Hot 50: Maria Verchenova

The golfer who is listed at No. 42 on's "50 hottest female athletes on social media" ranking is Maria Verchenova, who, these days, is often called by her married name, Maria Balikoeva.

Maria was the first Russian golfer to make a mark on the world golf scene, and she's been a member of the Ladies European Tour for some time now. Her best finish on the LET money list to date is 55th in 2008. She hasn't been playing much tour golf lately because she gave birth to her first child in 2012. Maria played only two tournaments in 2012, and so far in 2013 has made only two appearances on the LET. However, in one of those events this year - the Honma Pilsen Golf Masters - Verchenova tied for fourth place.

You can find Maria on Facebook. She also has a Twitter account - @MashkaVe - but as of this writing it remains unused.

Hyunju Yoo (Hyeonjoo Ryu): Newest Glamour Girl of the KLPGA

First, let's clear up why we've listed two names for this golfer in the headline. When she first came on the scene, she (and everyone else) spelled her name "Hyeonjoo Ryu." But recently on social media, she started spelling it "Hyunju Yoo." And we figure she knows better than anyone how to translate the Korean spelling of her name into an English spelling.
