Caroline Martens Wins LET Q-School

The winner of the 2013 Ladies European Tour Q-School is Norwegian golfer Caroline Martens, who earns her tour card for the 2014 season. Martens won it easily, too - her final margin of victory was eight strokes. The LET explains Martens' recent injury history: Having previously held Category 9b membership of the LET in 2012, Martens kept competitive by playing on the LET Access Series in 2013, but dislocated both of her shoulders during a tournament in Sweden in early September. "It's been such a difficult year and I've worked so hard. Having this week going the way it did, it makes me feel like all the hard work I've put into it really paid off. I'm really looking forward to next year, getting started and improving on what I did here," she said. Her Q-School performance certainly suggests Caroline is fully healed and ready for some good results in 2014. Martens played NCAA golf at Louisiana State University (LSU), recording four Top 10 finishes

Emily Talley Wins 'Big Break NFL'

Photo by Teresa Lee Photography ; courtesy of Emily Talley Congratulations to Emily Talley, your Big Break NFL champion on the Golf Channel series. (OK, Emily had two teammates who also won - NFL legend Jerry Rice plus Isaac Sanchez - but this blog isn't called Golf Dudes .) Emily gets a pretty good grand prize for the victory: an exemption to play in the 2014 ShopRite LPGA Classic. Emily graduated from the University of Colorado (with a degreen in communications) in 2012, the same year she won the school's Athlete of the Year Award (and also won the California Women's Amateur). She entered LPGA Q-School late that year and made it through all three stages, falling just short. Her website says that was a blessing in disguise: "Although she felt the pain of being so close and falling just short, she claims that it was a 'blessing in disguise' because she did not think she would have been both physically and mentally ready for the LPGA her very first year

Big news from Paula Creamer, just posted on Twitter: What an amazing day yesterday!! #goingtomarrythemanofmydreams #iamengaged ❤️👰🎩❤️ pic.twitter.com/QV6nJx6gtG — Paula Creamer (@ThePCreamer) December 16, 2013 Paula and her boyfriend Derek are now engaged to be married. Congratulations to both! Here's another pic posted by Paula showing off the ring (and her dog Studly): And here more pics posted by Paula on Instagram of her and Derek together: So just who is this Derek guy? His full name is Derek Heath, and he's been dating Paula since March. Golf Channel has more details: "The couple met through their parents. Paula's father and Derek's father flew together in the Navy and both became commercial airline pilots. They remain close friends. Paula and Derek met at the Kia Classic in March. Instructor Sarah Dant

Sarah Dant is a Class A PGA golf instructor who spends part of the year at the The Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, Tenn., and the winter months in Naples, Fla., at Royal Poinciana Golf Club. She shared this tweet recently: Just produced my first YouTube Video. Very excited! Would love feedback from all the video gurus out there. Enjoy! http://t.co/1F2QJUOuBe — Sarah Dant (@sarahdantgolf) December 6, 2013 And here is that first YouTube video posted by Sarah: The video is a little dark in spots, but the in-depth instruction on alignment is excellent, and Sarah is obviously a very personable individual. She seems like an instructor who would put her students at ease and communicate very well, which is about three-fourths of the battle in taking golf lessons. Hopefully she'll continue posting in-depth instructional videos on YouTube. See her website, sarahdantgolf.com , for more info.

More Meghan Hardin Calendar Pics

We told you a couple weeks ago about the Wilson Golf 100th anniversary calendar featuring Meghan Hardin. You can read about it, and view some behind-the-scenes pics of Meghan, here . And in the meantime, here are some calendar pics of Meghan for you:

Meghan Hardin and Wilson Golf's '100 Years Young' Calendar

Photos by Heather Stumpf-Popio/Vavoom Pinups If you know anything about the history of golf, and more specifically of golf clubs, then you know what a crucial role Wilson Golf played in the evolution of the game and the clubs with which the game is played. But did you know that Wilson Golf is about turn 100 years old? Wilson Golf has very cool things in store for its centennial celebration. I can't reveal the details, but suffice it to say we'll be seeing some cool, vintage-style products from Wilson in 2014. However, I can tell you about one of Wilson Golf's birthday goodies: a 2014 calendar featuring Meghan Hardin. We've featured our friend Meghan many times on Golf Babes; fans know her best as a competitor of two different seasons of Golf Channel's Big Break series (including the current Big Break NFL ). Here are some more behind-the-scenes photos of Meghan during the calendar shoot, starting with what you might call "Meghan Monroe": Sinc

Win No. 3 for Lexi Thompson

Lexi Thompson won the 2013 Loreno Ochoa Invitational in Mexico, and it seems like just a few weeks after her last victory. Hmm, that's because it was just a few weeks after her last victory, which was in Malaysia. Those are career wins Nos. 2 and 3 for Thompson, who, by the way, is still not yet 19 years old. Think this long-bomber has a big future? Here's a photo that Lexi posted on Instagram prior to the start of the tourney in Mexico: More Lexi Thompson pics

Bo-Mee Lee

Bo-Mee Lee was the winner of the 2013 Hisako Higuchi Morinaga Weider Ladies on the Japan LPGA. According to Mostly Harmless , Lee shot 65 in the final round to win going away. It is Lee's second JLPGA win of the year, her fifth over the past two years. Lee, from Korea, joined the JLPGA for the 2012 season. Prior to that she played on the Korean LPGA. She won three times in the 2010 KLPGA season and was the tour's leading money winner that year.

Golf Punk's Top 18 Swingin' Sirens

The UK magazine Golf Punk has always presented golf with an attitude. That includes its regular Swingin' Sirens feature, which takes a look at golf babes (not just pro golfers, but also celebrities). Golf Punk readers recently voted on their faves, and the result is a countdown in the current issues of the Top 18 Swingin's Sirens. You can view it here . We won't spoil the suspense for you. But here are a couple screen grabs of pages that include photos we haven't seen before of Ladies European Tour golfer Melissa Reid and (below) Golf Channel presenter Win McMurry.

Amy Yang Gets 1st LPGA Win

Amy Yang is a winner on the LPGA Tour, although she won in her home country of Korea to make it happen. Yang claimed the 2013 LPGA KEB HanaBank Championship, beating Hee Kyung Seo in a playoff. As noted, it's Amy's first LPGA victory, but she had important wins before. When she was still an amateur, and only 16 years old, Amy won the LET's ANZ Ladies Masters. (Her family moved from Korea to Australia when Amy was 15, and she now lives in Florida.) She won twice more on the Ladies European Tour in 2008, at the Ladies German Open and the Scandinavian TPC hosted by Annika. And Amy won on the KLPGA in 2011. Along the way, Yang had many good finishes on the LPGA, including a playoff loss to Yani Tseng and multiple Top 5 finishes in majors. And she's finished inside the Top 15 on the LPGA money list three straight years, 2010-12. So that first win was only a matter of time. Now that time is here.

Lexi Wins in Malaysia

Lexi Thompson had to go all the way to Malaysia, but you can bet it was worth it for the young phenom. Still not 19 years old, Thompson won the 2013 Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia by four shots. It's her second career LPGA victory, her third overall (counting one LET win), and her first since 2011. Here's a photo Lexi posted a while back on Twitter (follow her @Lexi): More Lexi Thompson pics

Giulia Molinaro

Giulia Molinaro is joining the LPGA Tour in 2014. The Italian golfer finished second on the Symetra Tour's 2013 money list, which means she graduates to the LPGA for next season. Molinaro took up golf at the age of 12 and progressed quickly, becoming part of the Italian national team and playing in the Junior Ryder Cup for Europe. She headed to America to play college golf, attending the University of Arizona. And 2012 was her real breakout year. That season, Giulia was the PAC 12 Player of the Year and earned first-team All-America honors. She turned pro in the latter half of 2012, and 2013 was her first season on the Symetra Tour. She hopes it's her last, too, because that would mean she has a good year as an LPGA rookie in 2014. But back to 2013: Giulia had five Top 10 finishes in 15 starts, and that included a victory at the Friends of Mission Charity Classic in May. She finishes strong, too, to secure her LPGA card, finishing third and fourth in the final two Symetra

Azhara Munoz Wins French Open

(Photo by Tristan Jones/LET) Azahara Munoz put a break in the LPGA schedule to good use: She headed to France to play in the Ladies European Tour's Lacoste Ladies Open de France - and won it. Perhaps surprisingly, it's only the second LET win for Munoz. Munoz, from Spain, attended college in America and then moved quickly onto the LPGA in 2010. But before that happened, she made her professional debut in the 2009 Madrid Ladies Masters on the LET, and won it. At the 2013 French Open, Munoz closed with a 65 to beat Gwladys Nocera and Valentine Derrey (two home-country hopefuls) by a stroke. More Azahara Munoz pics

Rebecca Artis Wins in Sweden

(Photo: @BecFloodGolf /Twitter) Rebecca Artis (nee Flood) won the Helsingborg Open in Sweden, beating Caroline Hedwall by a stroke in the Ladies European Tour event. Hedwall led by four entering the final round, but Artis shot 69 on a day of very high scores to catch her. Artis was one of only two players to break 70 in the final round. Artis, from Australia, is in her fourth season playing the LET. In her previous three campaigns she's ranked middle-of-the-pack on the money list, with a highest placing of 45th in 2012. Prior to 2013, she had two Top 10 finishes with a best of third place; both those Top 10s were in 2012. So she was trending up even before 2013, but Artis' career has really taken off this season. She had five Top 20s in LET events before the win in Sweden. That includes Top 10s in her previous two tournaments.

Paula, Sandra and Jessica Ready for Party

Need a fourth? That's Paula Creamer, Sandra Gal and Jessica Korda all dressed up to party. For a party, anyway - the pro-am party at Suzann Pettersen's pro-am in Norway. Creamer posted the photo on Twitter. Gal posted it on Instagram with the hashtag "#imnotthetallest". But that's only because Sandra isn't wearing heels, and Paula and Jessica are.

Allison Micheletti Marries Hockey Legend

Congratulations to Allison Micheletti on her marriage to hockey legend Mike Modano. Micheletti and Modano tied the knot in a wedding over the weekend in Dallas. That's the city were Modano spent most of his career, scoring 500+ goals for the Dallas Stars (after the team moved from Minnesota). What do Micheletti and Modano have in common? They both love golf, they both love hockey. Micheletti's father and uncle both played in the NHL. Most golf fans first met Allison when she was dating PGA Tour golfer Martin Kaymer and attended the 2009 Ryder Cup. But Allison is a fine golfer herself; she's entered Q-School for both the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour, and was a cast member on Big Break Atlantis .

Golfer Ha-Neul Kim

There are two famous Koreans named Ha-Neul Kim. One is an actress, one is a golfer. It's easy to confuse photos of the two, because the golfer is just as beautiful as the actress. The golfer Ha-Neul Kim is also very, very good at her job. In fact, she just won again. Kim won the MBN KYJ Golf Ladies Open on the KLPGA Tour, which concluded August 25. It was her first win of 2013, and the eighth of her career on the KLPGA. But it's Kim's second overall victory of the year; she also teamed with Inbee Park to win the Mission Hills World Ladies Championship in China. Kim's win at the MBN KJY was particularly impressive because she shot a final-round 63 to earn it.

Guyism Hot 50: Meghan Hardin

The golfer who is listed highest on Guyism.com's " 50 hottest female athletes on social media " ranking - all the way up at No. 4 - is Meghan Hardin. If you've seen our previous posts about Meghan, you'll understand why. Meghan was a cast member on Big Break Atlantis . And she'll be on the upcoming Big Break NFL where her NFL teammate is former quarterback Mark Rypien. Meghan plays plenty of tournament golf on the Cactus Tour, Women's Canadian Tour, and has status on the Futures Tour, and will try her luck at LPGA Q-School. But she's also a very popular pro at celebrity pro-ams and charity events. If you follow her on social media, you'll see plenty of pics of Hardin with various famous athletes and important people. Guyism Hot 50: Sophie Horn

The golfer who is listed at No. 13 on Guyism.com's " 50 hottest female athletes on social media " ranking is Sophie Horn. On her website (sophiehorn.com), Horn labels herself a "golfer, model, presenter." She won some amateur golf tournaments as a junior in Britain, but started to gain more widespread notice after becoming a columnist and model for the magazine Golf Punk around 2005. Since then, Sophie has become an in-demand model (often with a golf theme, often with a lingerie theme), has written for GQ magazine, and hosted numerous television programs about golf in the UK. She's also launched her own line of golf belts. You can follow Sophie on Twitter .

Guyism Hot 50: Blair O'Neal

The golfer who is listed at No. 36 on Guyism.com's " 50 hottest female athletes on social media " ranking is Blair O'Neal. We've seen Blair over the years on a couple seasons of The Big Break, in advertising campaigns by Cobra/Puma Golf, and in a Cobra Golf bikini calendar (as well as in many other modeling gigs). Even, for a while, in the Lingerie Football League. (The above image is from one of O'Neal's Puma Golf shoots.) But don't let all that distract you from her golfing talents. She's won a couple times on the Cactus Tour, played on the LPGA Futures Tour, and advanced far into the LPGA qualifying process. She's also won long drive competitions. You can follow Blair on Twitter ; on Instagram, find her @blaironealgolf. More pics of Blair O'Neal
