Kelly Tidy

Kelly Tidy has another big amateur title to her credit. In 2010 she won the British Ladies Amateur Championship, a victory that got her into the Women's British Open that year. And now she's also an English Ladies Amateur champion, claiming that trophy a couple weeks ago. She defeated Georgia Hall in a playoff in the tournament at Royal Birkdale, which also happens to be Kelly's home course. We'll see Kelly in another big competition this summer when she plays for the Great Britain & Ireland team in the Curtis Cup. She plans to remain an amateur through the end of the year while preparing to enter Ladies European Tour Q-School.

Cheyenne Woods Goes Pro

It's official: Cheyenne Woods is a professional golfer. After completing her collegiate career at Wake Forest, Cheyenne has signed with an agent. And it's the same agent who has guided the career of Uncle Tiger, Mark Steinberg. According to a statement released by Steinberg's agency, Excel, Cheyenne will be seeking sponsor exemptions (no doubt she'll get them!) to LPGA tournaments over the remainder of the 2012 season before entering Q-School at the end of the year. Best of luck to Cheyenne going forward. (Photo credit: Wake Forest Magazine)
