Sara Brown - Big Break Dominican Republic

Like Elena Robles, Sara Brown was on the just-concluded Big Break Sandals Resorts . Lucky us, we get to see her again on Big Break Dominican Republic , which premieres on the Golf Channel on Sept. 29. On GolfChannel.com, "No H" Sara talks about how she lost the passion for golf at the end of the 2009 season, but found it again after her first Big Break experience: "I couldn't have asked for a better experience than what I went though on Big Break in the Bahamas," said Brown. "I fell back in love with the game. It erased any doubts in my mind that this is what I want to do with my life." Sara made it to the Final 3 on her last BB series. How far will she go on Big Break Dominican Republic ? More Sara Brown pics

Elena Robles on Big Break Dominican Republic

Didn't the last Big Break just finish? Well, the next one is already here: Big Break Dominican Republic debuts on the Golf Channel this week. And it features familiar faces - six men and six women from seasons past. One of those returnees is Elena Robles, who was on the just-completed Big Break Sandals Resorts . Elena's bio on the Golf Channel's BBDR page includes the following Q&A: Q: You were the first player eliminated on Big Break Sandals Resorts. Have you prepared differently for Big Break Dominican Republic? A: To be honest, I think I prepared less, not differently. I'm playing on Tour, so I am playing a lot more tournament golf instead of just practicing at a golf course. I have the same strategy as before. I am back in love with golf, and whatever happens, happens. Q: How did your experience on Big Break Sandals Resorts impact your life? A: The positive feedback, support and encouragement were amazing. It is an opportunity of a lifetime to be able to show

Kris Tschetter and Ben Hogan

Kris Tschetter has been an LPGA Tour member for a long time. So long that she's now eligible for the tour's senior circuit, the Legends Tour. We should all look so good at 45, right? But back when she was just a spring chicken, as they say, Tschetter - attending Texas Christian University in Fort Worth - gained junior membership at Shady Oaks Country Club. Ben Hogan's club. Hogan was in his 70s then, and he wouldn't be around much longer. But in the relatively few years when she knew him, Tschetter found Hogan to be pretty much the opposite of his gruff, standoffish (some would say jerky) reputation. With Tschetter, Hogan was kind, generous, funny and warm. And that, Tschetter, says, was the real Hogan. She wanted to get that story out, so she wrote a book called Mr. Hogan, the Man I Knew , and subtitled An LPGA Player Looks Back on an Amazing Friendship and Lessons She Learned from Golf's Greatest Legend . I'll be honest: I haven't read the book yet. I'

LPGA Q-School Sectional

Congratulations to the 30 golfers who advanced out of the first of two LPGA Q-School sectional qualifiers, including the above Blair O'Neal. The photo of Blair is part of the Golf Channel's Big Break Dominican Republic package. We'll be seeing Blair again on the Big Break starting next week. We'll also be seeing her at LPGA Q-School Finals in December, which a chance to earn her LPGA Tour card for 2011. You can view the full scores to see all those advanced (and didn't).

Mika Miyazato

Mika Miyazato (no relation to Ai) shot a final-round 64 to finish solo third at the 2010 LPGA P&G NW Arkansas Championship. That's a new best finish on the LPGA for Mika, whose previous best was fourth at the 2009 Corning Classic. Mika has the distinction of being the youngest winner of the Japan Amateur Women's Championship, which she won in 2004 at 14 years and 8 months of age. She joined the LPGA Tour in 2009. If you watched the P&G, you might have noticed Mika using an orange golf ball. That's because her nickname is "Mikan," which in Japanese means "tangerine."

Lisa Pavin

Lisa Pavin is the wife of US Ryder Cup captain Corey Pavin, and she's come to be known as the "Captainess." She's getting quite a bit of attention right now because of her frontline presence as the captain's wife. And because of a lengthy profile in avidgolfer magazine this month.

Cindy LaCrosse Wins Futures Tour Title

Cindy LaCrosse had already clinched the 2010 Duramed Futures Tour money title entering the final tournament of the season. But winning that tournament was a nice valedictory. LaCrosse defeated Jennifer Song in a playoff for the win at the Price Chopper Tour Championship, officially ending the year as the DFT money leader - and thereby earning her tour card for the 2011 LPGA season. LaCrosse won three times on the Futures Tour in 2010, and had 11 Top 10 finishes in what was her second season as a pro. She played collegiately at the University of Louisville, where she was a 4-time all-conference selection, won four tournaments, and was an All-American in 2009. And by winning on the tour championship, LaCrosse also set a new record for most money earned in a DFT season.

A Win for Blair O'Neal

Blair O'Neal isn't just a reality TV contestant; she isn't just a "golfer turned model." She still is a golfer, and a highly accomplished one. Blair won the Cactus Tour tournament that wrapped up on Monday, Sept. 1, shooting 69 in the final round for a one-stroke victory over Elena Robles . O'Neal and Robles will be cast members together on Big Break Dominican Republic , the second go-round on Big Break for both. (BBDR begins airing on the Golf Channel on Sept. 29.) Blair has been playing the Cactus Tour with regularity in 2010, sharpening her game for a run at LPGA Q-School later this year. More Blair O'Neal pics
