Melissa Reid

Melissa Reid was tied for the lead after the first round of the 2010 Evian Masters. The young Englishwoman, 23 years old, is in her third full season as a member of the Ladies European Tour. In 2010, Reid has finished in the Top 10 in five of 10 tournaments played, and she posted her first career LET victory at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open. She finished seventh on the LET money list in 2009, and ranks third so far in 2010.

Ryann and Seema Into Canadian Women's Open

Photos courtesy of Golf Channel Ryann O'Toole and Seema Sadekar, cast members of the currently airing Big Break Sandals Resorts and teammates on the Play Golf Designs team, are going to be playing in the 2010 LPGA Canadian Women's Open. O'Toole and Sadekar earned exemptions into the LPGA Tour event by way of the Canadian Women's Tour Order of Merit. Sadekar beat the pressure in the final round of the final CWTO event of 2010 by shooting 69. That helped Seema finish sixth on the Order of Merit. Ryann was seventh on the Order of Merit on the strengh of second- and 10th-place finishes in earlier CWTO tournaments. And you might recall that O'Toole won the Duramed Futures Tour Falls Auto Group Classic two weeks ago. "This year has been headed in the direction I've been working so hard for," Ryann told me. "Starting off the year with filming the Big Break , getting exposure on national television, playing well on the Futures Tour - winning two ev

Paula Creamer Wins US Women's Open

(Photo: Paula Creamer deserves not just a single red rose after winning the 2010 U.S. Women's Open, but a whole bouquet. What a great tournament she had, what a great final round - and especially considering how recently her surgery took place. You can bet the folks in the LPGA offices are doing cartwheels over this, too. They might be the only people happier than Creamer. I've seen a lot of news articles and blogs that from this win as a "finally" happening, as in, "Creamer finally wins a major." But c'mon, that's not really fair. She's only 23. She's young to be winning a major, not overdue. And having won one, I doubt many of us would be against her winning at least several more. More Paula Creamer pics

Na Yeon Choi

Na Yeon Choi is the winner of the LPGA Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic, winning a 4-way playoff. Choi had a hole-in-one in the third round. In the fourth round, she lost the lead with which she started the day on the back nine, only to birdie the 72nd hole to get into the playoff. It's the third career win for Choi on the LPGA. She won twice in 2009, when she finished sixth on the LPGA money list. Prior to this victory, Choi had four Top 10 finishes in 2010, plus two more in the Top 15.
