Paige Mackenzie Models MiC Sport

(Photo by Peter Gaan) The LPGA Tour heads into its first major of the season, the Kraft Nabisco Championship, this week, and Paige Mackenzie is there. But before Paige headed to California, she headed into the photo studio to do a shoot modeling MiC Sport apparel. MiC Sport is designed by Melba Lee, who says she shied away from the game for many years due to apparel that was just a little bit too mainstream for her tastes. With a background in high fashion and contemporary women's suits, Melba decided to create MiC as a private label and bring those sensibilities to the golf world. She describes MiC as smart and sexy, "a collection with an unconventional flair." "We are continually reminded how incredibly sexy athletic and intelligent women can be," Melba Lee said. Hey, nobody has to tell Golf Babes readers that, right? And Paige is a great model for that, indeed. Check out the MiC Sport Web site along with the company blog for more info. (Photo by Pe

Hee Kyung Seo

Hee Kyung Seo is not a well-known name even among LPGA fans. Well, hers wasn't a well-known name; if Seo holds on to win the Kia Classic, she'll earn a little name recognition. Fans of or readers of The Contructivist know Seo, however; so do all the fans around the world who follow the Korean LPGA. Seo is the best player on the KLPGA, at least since the departure of Jiyai Shin from a full KLPGA schedule. Seo is an 11-time winner on the KLPGA. She's playing the LPGA Kia Classic as a sponsor invite and making the most of it; at the 36-hole point, Seo was the tournament leader. More Hee Kyung Seo pics

Cristie Kerr Masters Raffle

When I first heard there was a Cristie Kerr raffle, I thought, "What? I can win Cristie Kerr? Count me in!" But, drat, Cristie herself is not being raffled. The real raffle prize is almost as good, however: A couple tickets to attend the 2010 Masters weekend, free lodging, free airfare. And the benefits of the raffle go to Cristie's Birdies for Breast Cancer charity. So go buy a few tickets at . The deadline to enter is 11 a.m. EST on April 6. More Cristie Kerr pics

Bea Recari Wins Mojo6 Vote

Bea Recari is the winner of the Mojo6 voting and will be the 16th and last player in the field, according to a Golf Babes source. The Mojo6 organizers have not yet announced the vote totals, but the announcement of Recari's win is expected soon (perhaps today). Multiple players including Anna Rawson, Vicky Hurst and Sandra Gal competed, through marketing and PR campaigns, for golfers' votes to get into the Mojo6 field. Fifteen players were named to the field, and golfers voted to determine the final player. Recari used YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, her own Web site , and interviews with many golf blogs and media members to urge her fans to vote. And Recari's fans came through for her. Now the LET winner and LPGA rookie will be in Jamaica April 15-16 playing in the Mojo6. Congratulations Bea! Update: It's now official . More Bea Recari pics

Paula Creamer

(Photo: Paula Creamer is dealing with more injury problems after hurting her left thumb again a couple weeks ago in Thailand. On Twitter, Creamer posted the following updates (via Golf ) on her injury: "... I have been diagnosed as having a stretched ligament in my left thumb. This leads to hyperextension of my MCP joint. ... I'm working with an occupational therapist now to determine if I can wear a support brace while playing. It's too early right now to say when I'll be able to return to play. ..." More Paula Creamer pics

Bea Recari Wants Your Vote, Too!

Time is running low to vote for the 16th player in the Mojo 6 field. Just about 10 days left. It's been fun to watch some of the prospective golfers getting creative in their quest for votes. Bea Recari, a winner on the LET and a rookie on the LPGA Tour in 2010, is campaigning on Twitter, Facebook and - as you'll see in the video below - on YouTube. I think I'll go cast a vote for Bea right now. You can, too, on the Mojo 6 voting page . More Bea Recari pics

Mallory Blackwelder

The Web site we most recently added to our sidebar links list is that of Mallory Blackwelder. Mallory, in her first LPGA Rookie Blog (video included), said that she'll be playing on the LPGA, LET and Duramed Futures Tour in 2010. Mallory turned pro in May 2009 after a successful collegiate career at the University of Kentucky that included two victories. She also had a major amateur win at the 2007 Women's Western Amateur Championship. Golf genes? Hers are pretty good. Her mother is Myra Blackwelder, who played the LPGA for 12 years and was Rookie of the Year in 1980; and her dad is Worth Blackwelder, a longtime LPGA caddie. He most recently caddied for Juli Inkster, but is on Mallory's bag in 2010. Check out her Web site .
