Day 2 of our series on the contestants of "Big Break Prince Edward Island." Today we feature Gerina Mendoza.

Gerina is a native of Roswell, N.M., who played collegiately at UTEP. She won four tournaments while in college, including the 2007 Conference USA championship. And that year, she was named the CUSA Player of the Year.

Gerina turned pro late in 2007 and played on the Futures Tour in 2008. And her rookie season was a pretty darn good one: She made 15 of 17 cuts, had four Top 10 finishes with a best of second place; finished 10th in scoring average and 15th in money.

Her Golf Channel bio includes this:

Length off the tee will make her a force to be reckoned with in Big Break Prince Edward Island, not only for the girls, but for the guys as well. Super competitive and always sarcastic, she hopes that the other competitors will not misunderstand her motives.

"You really don't talk about competition with girls because girls are really sensitive and get their feelings hurt," Mendoza said about competing against both men and women in the series. "[With] guys, you can just let loose and really talk crap to each other. You can have a good time and really get into a competitive match."

Hyunju Yoo (Hyeonjoo Ryu): Newest Glamour Girl of the KLPGA

First, let's clear up why we've listed two names for this golfer in the headline. When she first came on the scene, she (and everyone else) spelled her name "Hyeonjoo Ryu." But recently on social media, she started spelling it "Hyunju Yoo." And we figure she knows better than anyone how to translate the Korean spelling of her name into an English spelling.

LPGA Golfers Enjoy the Bahamas Beachside and Poolside

Social media gives us a glimpse into the lives of professional golfers the likes of which we could never have gotten a mere 10 years ago. One word tells you all you need to know: "selfie." And when LPGA players visit a tournament site such as, say the Bahamas, selfies sometimes involve bikinis and other swimsuits. The LPGA Tour plays this week at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic. They are staying at the Atlantis Resort, which has a bevy of pools and other water features for them to enjoy; and are also right on the beach. Make that "beaches," since the resort is surrounded by sand and ocean, too. Below are a few of the swimsuit selfies LPGA golfers have shared on their social media accounts this week.
