Nicole Sikora

A couple weeks ago, we revealed the identities of the women of "Big Break XI." Of the six female contestants for the coming Golf Channel series, Nicole Sikora is the least experienced and perhaps the least known.

So who is Nicole? Glad you asked.

While Nicole has golfed professionally and modelled professionally, her actual profession at this time is a Wall Street job. She is a first-generation Ukrainian-America, her parents having immigrated from the Ukraine. She's very proud of that heritage and speaks the language.

On the modeling front, Nicole has done print work and was featured in the Golf Digest Japan World Ladies of Golf Calendar in 2006 and 2007.

But what about golf? Nicole started playing only in high school. Although she told me she "was not very good," she earned a spot on the boys golf team. In college at Division II St. Thomas Aquinas, she again earned a spot on the men's team. While the men played Division II tournaments, Nicole played in Division I women's tournaments. Her best finish was a second in a Hofstra Invitational (played at Bethpage) and a fourth in a Rutgers Invitational.

"I did not take golf seriously in college as my goal was to be valedictorian of my class," she said. And she reached that goal, graduating as valedictorian with a degree in psychology in 2005.

After graduation, Nicole says her scores reached into the 90s, but when she decided to take professional golf more seriously, she got down to scratch in one year. She played in eight Futures Tour events in 2007.

Nicole said she enjoys her Wall Street job, but also loves golf. "I recently just filmed 'Big Break PEI' and am not sure where my life will take me," she said.

But we are sure that her life will take her to our television screens beginning this Spring for "Big Break XI."

Why There's a 6 at the End of Jeongeun Lee's Name

Should we say that Jeongeun Lee possesses quite a bit of ... six appeal? If you follow women's golf and, specifically, check the scores of tournaments, then you have noticed something odd. In scores, Korean golfer Jeongeun Lee's name often includes the number "6." It appears in the scores as Jeongeun Lee6, for example. Or, sometimes, as Jeongeun6 Lee.

Hyunju Yoo (Hyeonjoo Ryu): Newest Glamour Girl of the KLPGA

First, let's clear up why we've listed two names for this golfer in the headline. When she first came on the scene, she (and everyone else) spelled her name "Hyeonjoo Ryu." But recently on social media, she started spelling it "Hyunju Yoo." And we figure she knows better than anyone how to translate the Korean spelling of her name into an English spelling.
