Tania Tare: Trick Shot Goals

It's not that easy to differentiate oneself in the world of golf trick shots these days. I mean, everyone is doing them. Or at least trying to. So you have to be very good at them, and display at least some measure of creativity, to get noticed now.

And Tania Tare keeps getting noticed.

The former Florida International University golfer, originally from New Zealand, has been featured on numerous golf websites lately for the trick shots she shoots and shares on social media. And now, we present Tania on GolfBabes.club, through the wonders of a YouTube clip that someone accurately named "12 Terrific Trick Shots by Talented Tania Tare":

Melissa Reid Wins Oates Vic Open

The 2017 season is off to a great start for England's Melissa Reid. Mel won the Oates Vic Open in Australia in a playoff over Sandra Gal, winning it on the third extra hole.

The Oates Vic Open is a tournament cosanctioned by the Ladies European Tour and the ALPG Tour. Melissa and Sandra were close to each the whole time after both started with first-round scores of 67. Reid had a 70 in Round 2, then went into the lead with a third-round 67.

In the final round, Gal chased down Reid and tied her, shooting 69 to Reid's 72. That left them tied at 16-under 276. They matched scores on the first two playoff holes, then Reid won it with a par on the third playoff hole.

It's the sixth career LET victory for Reid, who was Gal's teammate on the European squad at the Solheim Cup in both 2011 and 2015.

Meet Angela Akins, Sergio Garcia's Beloved

Sergio Garcia is getting married, and isn't he the lucky one: His better half is Angela Akins, former Golf Channel and Fox Sports Southwest reporter and accomplished golfer.

It's no surprise that Angela and Sergio were on the road to marriage. They each shared photos throughout the past year on social media of their adventures together. And Angela was on Sergio's arm at the most recent Ryder Cup Gala Dinner.

Their engagement was announced in mid-2016, so Sergio's tweet merely confirms that the wedding is on for this year.

Most recently she was a reporter and interviewer for the Golf Channel, a role she had beginning in 2015.

Prior to that, Akins had reporting and hosting jobs with Fox Sports Southwest, including hosting a five-hour Friday night show about Texas high school football.

Speaking of football: Any Texas football fans reading this might recognize Angela's last name. The Akins family includes some Texas football legends.

Angela's grandfather, Ray Akins, won nearly 300 games as a high school football coach.

Angela's father, Marty Akins, is, according to Wikipedia, the only wishbone quarterback ever named first-team All-American. Marty quarterbacked the Texas Longhorns for three seasons in the early 1970s, and Texas coach Darrell Royal called him "the best all around athlete I ever coached."

And Angela's cousin is New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees.

And what about Akins on the golf course? Hey, she might be able to beat Sergio ... if she can negotiate enough strokes! She's a past women's club champion at Spanish Oaks Golf Club in the Austin suburbs.

And Angela played college golf at the University of Texas. She was an academic all-conference selection in 2007-08, and received her Bachelor of Journalism degree from UT.

Congratulations and best wishes to Angela and Sergio.
