Jennifer Ha Gets Her First Pro Win

Congratulations to Jennifer Ha for posting her first victory in a professional tournament.

It happened at the NWGA's Timacuan Golf & Country Club event in Lake Mary, Fla., today (the Florida part of the NWGA Tour used to be called the Suncoast Series). Ha finished at 4-under 212 and passed the second-round leader with a final-round 70. She finished one stroke in front of the second-place golfer, 5-time LPGA Tour winner and multiple Solheim Cupper Maria (Hjorth) McBride.

Ha's earlier starts on the NWGA Tour this year produced some pretty good results, too, including two runner-up finishes. But his is her first pro win.

Ha was born in Korea but grew up in Calgary, Alberta, and plays under the Canadian flag. As an amateur she was a member of the Canadian National Team and her wins included the Pacific Northwest Women's Amateur in 2013.

Jennifer played college golf at Kent State University, where she was the MAC Freshman of the Year in the 2011-12 season. As both a sophomore and junior Ha was the conference's Player of the Year. In that junior year (2013-14), she tied the school record (first set by onetime Big Break golfer Jan Dowling) with four victories, and established the school's single-season scoring average record (since broken).
