Jessica Korda Wins in Bahamas

The LPGA's Bahama Mama of 2014 is Jessica Korda.

Korda won the 2014 Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic by one shot over Stacy Lewis, shooting 66 in the final round to secure the victory. That 66 included birdies on the last two holes, and three of the final four holes.

It's the second career win for Korda on the LPGA. Her first was at the 2012 Australian Women's Open. Korda went into the tournament ranked No. 40 in the Rolex Rankings, and after the win she moved up to 24th.

This could be a big year for Korda, who certainly has the talent to be one of the best on tour. Despite some injury issues in 2013, she still managed to finish 25th on the LPGA money list, 15th in scoring average, and earn a berth on the United States' Solheim Cup team.

Daniela Holmqvist

(Photo: @DHolmqvist/Twitter)

Daniela Holmqvist is the winner of the ALPG's Mount Broughton Classic, her first victory in Australia. Now she can be known for something other than being the golfer who got bit by a black widow spider during a round!

Dani won the Mount Broughton at 10-under par, two strokes better than runner-up Sarah Kemp.

It's been a good couple weeks for Holmqvist. She entered the ALPG event after training at the Swedish Olympic Training Camp in Dubai. There, she got to spend time with, among others, Ryder Cup player Peter Hanson.

Holmqvist wrapped up her collegiate golf career as an All-American at Cal following the 2012 season. She was a rookie in 2013 on the LET, where her best finish was a tie for 12th.

Sandra Gal was on the Golf Channel's Morning Drive program on Jan. 15, in part to promote a charity auction. Here she is, looking spectacular backstage:

What's the charity auction? It's a great idea. Sandra, if you're not aware, is an artist - a painter. And she is putting one of her paintings up for action to raise money for The First Tee of Lakeland, Florida. The painting Sandra is auctioning is titled Sunshine after Rainfall and is 16x16 in size, acrylic on canvas; here's a photo of it:

You can help Sandra support The First Tee of Lakeland by placing a bid on the painting. The auction is taking place on Gal's website; go to sandragal.com/charity for the complete details and instructions on bidding. The auction opened on Jan. 15 and closes on Jan. 31, 2014.

Lisa Cornwell Joins 'Golf Channel'

There's a new face at the Golf Channel, and we'll be seeing a lot of her: Lisa Cornwell has joined the golf network as an anchor on Golf Central.

Cornwell has a very interesting past. She was an accomplished junior golfer, a four-time winner of the Arkansas Women's State Amateur. She played with Tiger Woods as a junior, and has played with President Bill Clinton for the duration of her career, earliest days to present time. That's because Lisa and the former President are cousins.

After starting a broadcast career in local news, Cornwell moved to sports as a studio host, reporter and play-by-play announcer for the Big Ten Network. Most recently, she had been hosting the syndicated SEC Press Pass, a show she founded in 2011.

First Three 'Bikini Golfers' Announced

There was news on Twitter with this from Bikini Golf:

What is Bikini Golf? It's a production company that is planning a television series in which female professional golfers compete in skins games, wearing bikinis.

Through its website, bikinigolf.com, the outfit had been accepting applications from interested golfers. Then it conducted interviews with aspiring bikini golfers. That initial process is over, the first three bikini golfers are selected - you see their Twitter handles above - and the pilot will be shooting in mid-February in Palm Springs, Calif.

Those three golfers are McKenzie Jackson, Alana Lauren and Maggie Noel. For the pilot episode, they'll wear "sporty and stylish bikinis" and play nine holes in a skins game format, with cash money on the line, $1,000 per hole.

We'll have more about Bikini Golf and the first three bikini golfers in the coming months. But here's an early look at the first three contestants.

McKenzie Jackson you should already know well - she was a cast member on Big Break Mexico:

Alana Lauren is a California girl who played last year on the Cactus Tour:

Maggie Noel is based in Houston and in addition to teaching golf, also models:
