Minea Blomqvist

Tervetuloa Golf Babes lukijoita Suomi! Saamme valtavan määrän suomalaisia vierailijoita tänään etsivät Minea Blomqvist, joten tässä on vielä pari valokuvia.

The above is a message to our Finnish readers, produced via Google Translate. And given the reliability of Google Translate, I might have just told everyone in Finland that I smell like a chicken. But those are the chances we take.

Minea Blomqvist is back on home turf this week for the Finnair Masters in Helsinki. An article on the LET website discusses Blomqvist's return to golf following the birth of her son, Elmo, and life as a mother and soon-to-be wife:

"I have a full time nanny so I pretty much kept on doing this like I used to. We have a great support group behind, so Elmo has lots of loving people to take care of him. There are two options: either quit or play fully committed – and I have big dreams to get better as a player."

Blomqvist and her boyfriend, European Tour player Roope Kakko, will marry on New Year…

Paige Mackenzie and MiC Sportswear

MiC Sportswear is unveiling its Fall 2011 line, and Paige Mackenzie is back to model it. Of course, Paige doesn't just model it, she wears MiC in her tournament rounds. LPGA.com recently featured Mackenzie and MiC in its "Style Watch" section, and it included this exchange with Paige:

How does MiC Sport fit with your style?
MiC Sport's fashion fits my style with their timeless designs and colors. I like how I can go to the airport or grocery store after a day on the course and it doesn't look like I spent the day playing golf.

What are some of their unique pieces and color schemes?
A lot of the pieces in the collection are knit shell and cardigan sets. I love the cardigan sets because they are easy to wear and change if the weather changes, plus they are 3/4 length which I prefer to long sleeve when golfing. What sets this collection apart from others is that the pieces are very body conscience and most bottoms come …

Mindy Kim

Mindy Kim led the 2011 LPGA State Farm Classic for the first three rounds. In the end, Yani Tseng was the winner, with Mindy shooting a 1-over 73 in the final round. Kim wound up finishing tied for fifth.

Still, it was a great week for Kim, who turns 22 in several weeks. Now in her third season on the LPGA, this is Kim's best finish to date.

But she's having a great 2011 season so far. Kim now has four Top 10 finishes in seven starts and has won more money this year than in her two previous LPGA seasons combined.

Brittany Lincicome

Let's hear it for Bam Bam. Brittany Lincicome birdied the last hole of the 2011 ShopRite LPGA Classic thanks to a spectacular chip shot out of foot-high fescue, and that was her winning margin.

It's Lincicome's first victory since the 2009 Kraft Nabisco Championship, and the fourth of her career. Brittany has been solid in 2011, with a runner-up finish earlier at the Founders Cup, and three other Top 20 finishes. Now she's a winner again.

Melissa Reid

Hmm, that's a funny shirt Melissa Reid is wearing in the photo above, which is from a shoot for Evian. Why would she wear a shirt with a baby on it? Could it be because she's a golf ... babe?

Mel is also a winner again on the Ladies European Tour, claiming her second career title at the Deloitte Dutch Ladies Open. Reid shot a final-round 70 to win by one stroke.

Reid is one of the leaders of a great young pack of European women golfers who just might start to even up the Solheim Cup in the coming years. Mel is virtually a lock to make the 2011 European Solheim Cup team, as are Christel Boeljon and Sandra Gal, who would also be Solheim rookies.
