Anna Rawson Retiring from Golf?

anna rawson retiring

Australian golfer/model Anna Rawson might be retiring from golf. At the end of Day 1 of the LPGA Tour Championship, Rawson told Golfweek's Beth Ann Baldry that she plans to take a year off - and, perhaps, to permanently leave the tour life. "I've done this for six years and it's been awesome, I love it," Rawson told Baldry. "But maybe there's other things in life."

There are certainly other things in Rawson's life. There's the modeling - although she told Baldry she might give that up, too. And Rawson is engaged to be married. Her future husband is Ted Cherrin, head of worldwide television at powerhouse entertainment management company International Creative Management (ICM). Ahhhh, perhaps Rawson is thinking in terms of television? Spokesperson? Host? Acting?

Wrote Baldry: "(Rawson) wants to take a year off from full-time golf for her 'general well-being.' 2011 will be an experimental year for Rawson, who plans to dabble in business opportunities, hopefully ones that involve golf. She also will play on the odd sponsor exemption."

Hyunju Yoo (Hyeonjoo Ryu): Newest Glamour Girl of the KLPGA

First, let's clear up why we've listed two names for this golfer in the headline. When she first came on the scene, she (and everyone else) spelled her name "Hyeonjoo Ryu." But recently on social media, she started spelling it "Hyunju Yoo." And we figure she knows better than anyone how to translate the Korean spelling of her name into an English spelling.

LPGA Golfers Enjoy the Bahamas Beachside and Poolside

Social media gives us a glimpse into the lives of professional golfers the likes of which we could never have gotten a mere 10 years ago. One word tells you all you need to know: "selfie." And when LPGA players visit a tournament site such as, say the Bahamas, selfies sometimes involve bikinis and other swimsuits. The LPGA Tour plays this week at the Pure Silk Bahamas LPGA Classic. They are staying at the Atlantis Resort, which has a bevy of pools and other water features for them to enjoy; and are also right on the beach. Make that "beaches," since the resort is surrounded by sand and ocean, too. Below are a few of the swimsuit selfies LPGA golfers have shared on their social media accounts this week.
