Marousa Polias is currently enjoying the Australian summertime playing the Australian Ladies Professional Golf Tour. That means she's playing this week in the ANZ Ladies Masters (cosponsored by the Ladies European Tour). Earlier in the Aussie "pro-am" season, Marousa finished second - a career best to date - at the Aristocrat Mollymook Women's Classic.
Speaking of the LET, Marousa made it through Q-School a month ago and earned partial status, so we'll be seeing her in some other LET events throughout 2009, as well.
As an amateur in 2004 Marousa won the Australian Ladies Amateur Championship. She turned pro later that year.
You know what I like about Marousa? Despite being an Aussie, she hates Vegemite. Vegemite is one of the scourges of humanity, and I hope Marousa will join me in working for its eventual eradication.
Golf Babes fans may recall that Marousa was one of the ALPG pros featured in the original "Top Shots" calendar a couple years ago. She is also in this year's Australian Women of Professional Golf Calendar, and we'll be featuring her photo from that calendar here a little later.
One other note about Marousa: If you catch sight of her in a golf tournament, check out what she's wearing - she enjoys designing clothes and sometimes wears her creations on the course.
