The Return of the Aussie Calendar
Two years ago a group of glamour girls from the Australian Ladies Professional Golf Tour (ALPG) were featured in a calendar whose mission was to generate funds for breast cancer research but which wound up also generating a bit of an uproar over how much - or how little - some of the golfers were wearing.
Well, the women of the ALPG are back with a new calendar for 2009. And we'll be featuring a few shots from that calendar over the coming week. As a teaser, we'll let you know that the calendar this time benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation; that it pays homage to Jan Stephenson; and that it features a few new faces.
The calendar includes a reproduction of Stephenson's famous bathtub poster from two decades ago. That image is included here, along with one of 2009 calendar girl and ALPG pro Danielle Montgomery in a re-creation of that shot.
Aussie blogger John Cooke (The Perth Files) was involved in staging the publicity event that helped unveil the calendar earlier this week. He has an amusing post about the process (including the number of balls needed) here.
Stay tuned for 2009 Aussie calendar shots next week.
