On the Road with Perry Swenson

Gah! Who let Charlie Rymer onto Golf Babes? Hey, sometimes you have to take the bad with the good. And the good in this case is the very good Perry Swenson.

Swenson, along with (left to right) Rymer, Josh Kelley and Mark Bryan, is part of the cast of the Golf Channel series, "Road Trip: Myrtle Beach." The show airs Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. (ET). The first four shows are complete, and eight more will be filmed in April.

Perry got onto the series through an audition for "The Big Break." After meeting Perry, Golf Channel producers felt she'd be a perfect fit for "Road Trip" because of her musical background (castmates Kelley and Bryan are rock musicians). "I have been singing and playing the piano ever since I was little," Perry told me, adding that she's even performed at a few pro-am parties during Futures Tour tournament weeks.

The "Road Trip" quartet will play as a foursome this year in the Hootie and the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Pro-Am, with Swenson one of the few females in the field (two others: Annika Sorenstam and Laura Davies). (And it should be noted that Bryan is a member of Hootie and the Blowfish.)

Here's a fun fact about Perry: She is believed to be the only female golfer ever to make a hole-in-one at Augusta National. Yep, it's true. And it's also true that Perry recently hooked up with our friends at Play Golf Designs. And one final note: Perry's golf plans for 2008 are to play a full season on the Futures Tour.

Now, to make up for Charlie Rymer's appearance here, we'll run another photo of the lovely Perry, complete with some good old-fashioned redeye:

Why There's a 6 at the End of Jeongeun Lee's Name

Should we say that Jeongeun Lee possesses quite a bit of ... six appeal? If you follow women's golf and, specifically, check the scores of tournaments, then you have noticed something odd. In scores, Korean golfer Jeongeun Lee's name often includes the number "6." It appears in the scores as Jeongeun Lee6, for example. Or, sometimes, as Jeongeun6 Lee.

Hyunju Yoo (Hyeonjoo Ryu): Newest Glamour Girl of the KLPGA

First, let's clear up why we've listed two names for this golfer in the headline. When she first came on the scene, she (and everyone else) spelled her name "Hyeonjoo Ryu." But recently on social media, she started spelling it "Hyunju Yoo." And we figure she knows better than anyone how to translate the Korean spelling of her name into an English spelling.
