Erica Blasberg - Q-School Grad

Congratulations to Erica Blasberg on making it through the final stage of LPGA Q-School last week. Blasberg finished in a tie for 12th (the Top 15 earned fully exempt status on the LPGA Tour).

Blasberg left the University of Arizona early to turn pro, and her rookie year on the LPGA Tour was 2005. She made 11 of 16 cuts that year and finished 109th on the money list. This past year, she also made 16 starts and finished 112th on the money list (although she earned a little more money than in 2005).

Maybe 2007 will be breakout year for Erica. She's drawn many comparison to Natalie Gulbis, but so far those comparisons have more to do with modeling and marketing. Hopefully her golf will start eliciting comparison to Gulbis, too.

In an interview with LPGA.com, Blasberg revealed that her nickname is "Skip" because on the first day of workouts in her freshman year the golfers were required to do a skipping drill ... and she couldn't do it. She had forgotten how to skip.

When asked what she absolutely must do each morning to get her day started, Blasberg replied, "Eat a bowl of 'Frosted Flakes' and go on the Internet."

Should we say that Jeongeun Lee possesses quite a bit of ... six appeal? If you follow women's golf and, specifically, check the scores of tournaments, then you have noticed something odd. In scores, Korean golfer Jeongeun Lee's name often includes the number "6." It appears in the scores as Jeongeun Lee6, for example. Or, sometimes, as Jeongeun6 Lee.

Hyunju Yoo (Hyeonjoo Ryu): Newest Glamour Girl of the KLPGA

First, let's clear up why we've listed two names for this golfer in the headline. When she first came on the scene, she (and everyone else) spelled her name "Hyeonjoo Ryu." But recently on social media, she started spelling it "Hyunju Yoo." And we figure she knows better than anyone how to translate the Korean spelling of her name into an English spelling.
